Elever i møte med ulike livstolkninger; RLE som holdningsskapende fag

Abstract

Formålsavsnittet for RLE- faget og målene i LK06 legger føringer for at undervisning i faget skal bidra til at barn og unge utvikler respekt for andre livstolkninger. Problemstillingen er utformet med mål om å finne svar på om RLE- undervisning kan ha noen påvirkning på hvorvidt elever viser respekt for andre livstolkninger enn sin egen. Oppgaven er empirisk og det er gjort kvalitativ forskning. Det empiriske materialet består av 40 elevtekster, skrevet av 20 informanter som går i 10.klasse. Informantene i oppgaven ble presentert for et case der de skulle uttrykke hva de mente om en situasjon hvor ei jente ble kritisert for å bruke Hijab. Deretter hadde elevene undervisning i RLE i fire uker, før de på nytt skulle svare på det samme case. Det ble gjort for å se om undervisningen hadde noen påvirkning på hvordan informantene reflekterte og uttrykte seg som respektfulle elever. Svarene informantene gav viser at 11 av informantene utrykte like stor grad av respekt før undervisning som etter, 4 av informantene utrykte større grad av respekt etter undervisning enn før. 3 av informantene viste manglende respekt både før og etter undervisning, mens 2 av informantene fremstod som mer respektfulle før undervisning, enn etter.

The objective of RLE, as well as the Knowledge Promotion (2006) emphasizes that the subject shall contribute to developing respect for other religions and interpretations of life. By answering the thesis question, I will hopefully get an answer to if the pupils has increased their respect for other human beings as well as others interpretation of life. This bachelor thesis is an empirical thesis with qualitative research. The empiric material consists of 40 texts written by 20 pupils in 10th grade. The representatives in this study received a case where they were to express their feelings about a specific situation where a girl was criticized for using Hijab. After being presented this case, the pupils went through a lecture for four weeks before they were giving the same case once more. This was done to see if the lecture had anything to say in developing increased respect for others. The answers showed that 11 of the pupils expressed the same amount of respect both before and after the lecture, 4 of the pupils expressed an increased respect all-over, 3 of the pupils showed a lack of respect both before and after and 2 of the pupils expressed more respect before than after the lecture.
