It must be sees as a challenge for the school to preserve the traditional values that the analog picture book provides. At the same time the digital books have made room for new opportunities. Kunnskapsløftet (2006) had reading and computer skills as two of its five basic skills. With this as its starting point, teachers have the challenge to use new methods and modern equipment. It is also challenging for the schools to keep track of all the different children’s interests when it comes to those new tablets and then use pedagogical reading strategies on multimodal texts.
