dc.description.abstractSammendrag engelsk (abstract). This is an academic report about the documentary Children of the Festival. The report research the question What separates the journalistic documentary from the art documentary? in an analysis of our documentary through applicable theory from the beginning of the film to which it stand today. It’s proven problematic to define the documentary as a genre. We’ve had to discuss how to categorize our own production of The Children of the Festival. To reach a conclusion we’ve had to look into the film’s origin, the evolution of the documentary which separates from fiction, with the television’s debut and influence of the genre – and discuss how new technology affects the authentic actuality film depicting reality
