Engelsk sammendrag (abstract) This bachelor thesis explores how artists can strengthen their relationship with their fans through social media. We have primarily focused on how the artists perform through Facebook and Instagram and how the respondents perceive this. The assignment is based on individual interviews we conducted with 8 respondents. The respondents, through individual interviews, answered the same questions where they were allowed to discuss the given questions. The respondents have expressed how they experience and follow an artist, how they relate to music and what it is that makes them follow an artist. Through these interviews and theory, we will shed light on our problem "How can artists connect with their fans through social media.'' The various findings throughout the interviews show that all respondents use social media whether they follow artists or not. They have a general interest in social media and use this to stay updated on different fronts and to communicate with other users. Through the interviews, we have found that they expect different content on the various social media platforms. Where Facebook is expected to have practical information and news around concerts and new music releases, Instagram is a more personal platform where artists can share personal moments from their lives. We also find out through the interviews that there are shared opinions about how personal you should be in the posts you post, some would like to see more of the artist's back and what goes on behind closed doors, while others will only hear the music and see single pictures from the concert.en_US
