Political guidelines point out that human rights and seeing people in a holistic perspective as fundamental to the municipality's work with children and families. Emphasis is placed on increased focus on preventive work, early intervention and interdisciplinary collaboration. Interdisciplinary collaboration is considered a useful and necessary working method in the family support work with children and families. Prevention and early intervention help to implement and identify the need for help at an early stage. At the same time, several research reports and official documents have criticized the welfare state's assistance offer and pointed out that the assistance appears to be fragmented. To prevent disclaimer and little coordinated help, the focus is now on the municipality's family support work. The child welfare service and the health station are part of the family support work that will prevent and help children and their families in a difficult and challenging life situation from a holistic perspective. This thesis focuses on dilemmas that may arise in the interdisciplinary collaboration between the child welfare service and the health station. Interdisciplinary collaboration consists of a diversity of factors that affect each other in different directions and can lead to both obstacles and enrichment in the execution of the work. In the thesis, the political guidelines and theories of interdisciplinary collaboration are linked to complexity theory. As children and parents who come into contact with child welfare, often have a variety of challenges and several difficulties that affect each other and give a complex life situation. The issue that is sought to be elucidated is how interdisciplinary collaboration between the health station and the child welfare service can contribute to comprehensive help for the benefit of children and their families? To find answers to the thesis problem, a qualitative method and interview with employees at the health station and in the child welfare service were used. The participant's input has been useful in understanding the dilemmas that may arise, and what can be useful measures to bring about an improvement in interdisciplinary collaboration. The participants' input largely coincides with what research reports and official documents refer to and research that has been done in recent years around this topic. The results of the study shed light on the participants' experiences and points of view, up against theoretical perspectives related to what can be done to bring about a good collaboration.
