Abstract

Norsk: Hjelp når du trenger det er et aksjonsrettet forskningsprosjekt som er opprettet i forbindelse med 100-årsjubileet til Sanderud psykiatriske sykehus (Sykehuset Innlandet HF) i 2008. Ønsket er å se på hva som fungerer og ikke fungerer i kontakten mellom psykisk helsevern, avgrenset til akuttpsykiatrien og distriktpsykiatrisk senter (DPS) Hamar, og de åtte kommunene som er DPS-ets opptaksområde. Dette notatet oppsummerer prosjektets del 1, som er en grunnlagsstudie gjennomført i 2008. Prosjektet videreføres i del 2 (2009–2011) gjennom et handlingsorientert forskningssamarbeid. Del 1 gir en kvantitativ og kvalitativ beskrivelse av psykisk helsevern i forskningsområdet. Studien viser at de involverte (ansatte ved DPS Hamar og akuttavdelinger på SI Sanderud, brukere, fastleger og ansatte i kommunenes psykiske helsearbeid) deler en felles opplevelse av situasjonen som frustrerende, og en felles vilje til endring. Selv om mye oppleves som tilfredsstillende og mange brukere får god hjelp, er det også frustrasjon i forhold til administrering, ressurser, samarbeidsrutiner, kompetanse og kvalitet. Det tas til orde for smidigere innleggelsesprosedyrer, erfarne fagfolk i frontlinjen, brukerinnflytelse, nettverkstenkning, tettere samarbeid med fastleger, ambulante tjenester og ett telefonnummer for henvendelser til spesialisthelsetjenesten. Lett tilgjengelige DPS-funksjoner og gode samarbeidsrutiner mellom første- og andrelinje etterspørres i særlig grad.

English: Help when needed is an action research project which is established in connection with the 100th anniversary of Sanderud psychiatric hospital (Innlandet Hospital Trust) in 2008. The purpose is to investigate interactions between the specialist psychiatric health care, limited to the emergency clinics and the district psychiatric centre (DPS) at Hamar, and the eight municipalities in the function aria of this DPS. The following reports from part 1 of the study; a basis investigation accomplished in 2008. The project will be continued in part 2 (2009–2011) by an action oriented research cooperation. Part 1 presents a quantitative and qualitative description of psychiatric health care in the research aria. The study shows that the participants (health workers at the DPS and the emergency clinics, municipality health workers, community doctors and users/patients) share a common experience of the situation as frustrating, as well as a common willingness for change. Even though much is experienced as functioning well and many get help when needed, there is a frustration regarding administration, recourses, routines for cooperation, competence, and quality. Proposals are: More adaptive procedures for hospitalizing, experienced professionals in the front line, users’ influence, networking, closer cooperation with the community doctors, ambulant services, and one telephone number for contacting the specialist health care. Easily accessible DPS functions and good routines for cooperation between first and second line are especially requested.
