Forutsetninger for valid vurdering av sykepleierstudenters sykepleiekompetanse ved frikjøp av praksisveiledere

Abstract

Norsk: Prosjektet ble gjennomført høsten 1999, ved den desentraliserte sykepleierutdanninga som Høgskolen i Hedmark driver i Kongsvinger. Til sammen deltok 30 studenter, 2 praksisveiledere i halv stilling og to lærere i prosjektet, som ble gjennomført på to kirurgiske og en medisinsk avdeling på Kongsvinger sjukehus. Hensikten med prosjektet var å fokusere på validitet i vurdering av sykepleierstudenter i klinisk praksis i forbindelse med frikjøp av praksisveileder. Datagrunnlaget er skrevet tekst, i form av praksisveiledernes notater til de formelle vurderingene. Det er foretatt en tolkning og analyse av disse notatene, i forhold til grunndimensjonene i sykepleie (May S. Fagermoen 1993) , praksistrekanten / praktisk yrkesteori (Lars Løvli 1974), høgskolens formelle mål og evalueringsansvaret hos den enkelte aktør i evalueringssituasjonen. Rapporten konkludere med at kvalifisering av praksisveilederne, tydeliggjøring av mål for kliniske studier, avklarte ansvarsforhold og en formalisert kommunikasjon mellom kontaktsykepleier, praksisveileder og høgskolens lærer er vesentlige faktorer for å sikre en valid evaluering av studentens praktiske dyktighet.

English: This study was conducted in the fall 1999 at the decentralised nursing education in Kongsvinger from Hedmark College, Department of Nursing education. The intention of the study has been to put a focus on valid evaluation of the students in their clinical studies in connection with clinical instructors bought free from their normal work as a nurse. The study took place in a hospital in three different units, one medical and two surgical units. Thirty students, two clinical instructors and two teachers from the college participated in the study together with nurses who supervise the students in the units in the hospital. Data in the study is based on the written material from the clinical instructors that they used for the summative evaluation. An interpretation and content analyse is made from these writings. To evaluate the students practical skills it is necessary to have knowledge to have knowledge of the fundamental dimensions in nursing. May Solveig Fagermoen and Lars Løvlie is important sources in the description of these dimensions. In addition to these sources the goals for the education and the responsibility of the participants in the evaluation has been paid attention. Findings: To secure the students a valid evaluation it is important to qualify the clinical instructors in evaluation, to have clear goals for the clinical practice, to clarify the responsibilities for every participants and to have good and formal communication between the clinical instructor, the supervisors in the units and the faculty members.
