Abstract

The thesis seeks to explore the discipline of modern street photography and how it is featured by means social networks and photo-sharing websites. The objective of the thesis is to figure out how the ubiquity of digital devices (mobile phones in particular) influences the development of street photography. The aim of the thesis is to distinguish the major trends or sub-genres of modern street photography and to find their placement on the scale between Art and Documentary, in the context of ubiquity of digital photography.
