«A teacher is one who makes himself progressively unnecessary» - Elevmedvirkning

Abstract

Det står spesifisert i både Opplæringslovens formålsparagraf (2008) og læreplanens generelle del (1993) at elevmedvirkning skal vektlegges i skolen. I 2012 ble det også fastsatt en bestemmelse av tid som skal brukes til dette. Mange elever sliter med å finne mening i det arbeidet de gjør på skolen, og i denne oppgaven undersøkes det hvordan elevmedvirkning kan bidra til faglig og personlig utvikling hos eleven. Det vil gjennom observasjoner, gjennomføring av et undervisningsopplegg og kartlegging bli drøftet positive konsekvenser av elevmedvirkning opp mot relevant teori om klasseledelse, motivasjon og sosialisering. Klassene som blir undersøkt er to 10. klasser på til sammen 41 representanter over en periode på fire uker. Oppgaven og dens resultater vil forhåpentligvis bidra til en økt forståelse for elevmedvirkning som en metode for å øke læringsutbytte hos elevene og som en metode for å bidra til motivasjon og følelsen av mestring hos elevene.

The Education Act’s objects clause (2008), as well as the core curriculum (1993), specifies that pupil participation shall be emphasized. In 2012 it was also fixed how much time a teacher should use on pupil participation. A lot of pupils struggle with finding meaning in the work they do at school, and this bachelor thesis examines how pupil participation can contribute to both professional and personal development. Through observation, by planning a lecture and by conducting a survey, positive consequences will be discussed against relevant theory about motivation, classroom management and socialization. The representatives consist of 41 pupils from 10th grade, and the time period is 4 weeks. The thesis and its results will hopefully contribute to a better understanding of pupil participation as a method for increased learning outcome and as a method to contribute to motivation and a feeling of success.
