| dc.description.abstract | Jeg har med denne oppgaven prøvd å kartlegge platebransjens nåværende tilstand, mellom sluttfasen av fysisk format og startfasen av streamingmarkedet. Dette i form av økonomisk tilstand, innstilling og tanker om fremtiden. Dette har jeg gjort gjennom 3 hypoteser som jeg har besvart ved hjelp av 11 informanter hovedsakelig fra små og store plateselskaper.
Jeg har kommet fram til at den verste økonomiske perioden for plateselskapene etter CD-salgets nedgang snart er forbi, da streaming og digital nedlastning (lovlig) begynner å generere betydelig med inntekter. Samtidig er innstillingen til framtiden lys og det nye formatet både krever og inspirerer til en kreativ fremgangsmåte.
Abstract
Title: Norwegian record industry in the phase between fysical sales and streaming. A thesis on the record companie’s current situation and way forward In this thesis I sought to identify the record industry’s current condition in the age between physical sales and streaming services. To reach this goal, I have used a qualitative method by interviewing 11 executives from major- and independent record labels who could tell me about the Norwegian industry’s economy and ambitions for the future.
I have come to the conclusion that the economical situation is improving again after the loss of CD-sales, and that the reason for this is that so many consumers now use streaming services and legal digital downloads. The ambition for the future is positive and the new format both requires and inspires a creative approach. | no_NO |
