dc.description.abstract | English: In this paper we wish to highlight the importance of asking good
questions. Our intention is that students should improve their ability to ask
questions, which will enable them to formulate hypotheses that further on will
lead to questions which are suitable for research.
People ask questions all the time. Research, however, demands a sharper focus
than the many “theories of daily life”. Nevertheless we use examples from daily
life to explain cause-and- effect, knowing that people think in terms of causeand-
effect all the time, without reflecting on what is the cause and what is the
effect of different possible causes.
We start with the questions that are easy to understand, because we are convinced
that a down-to-earth approach to understanding research makes it easier to
formulate good questions.
Our aim with this paper is thus to train the ability to ask good questions and
increase the understanding of cause-and-effect in research. | |
