Norsk: Høgskolen i Hedmark avd.
English: Namibian education authorities wanted to introduce entrepreneurship in teacher education (both pre-service and in-service), and as a subject in junior secondary school, grades 8 to 10. The new subject should replace the subject Business Management that both the learners and teachers experienced as too much theoretical. The learners were lacking motivation for this subject. Namibian education authorities by NIED (National Institute for Education and Development) aimed to have finish the development of syllabuses for the subject before the ending of 2007, and to have them implemented from 2008. Hedmark University College (HUC) was invited by Namibia Association of Norway (NAMAS) to assist NIED with advice and counselling in the process of developing a plan for teacher training, syllabuses in grade 8 and a Teacher Guide in entrepreneurship. The preparation work by HUC and NIED took place in 2005 and 2006, with a focus on development of knowledge, attitudes and skills in a pilot group named by NIED. This Group consisted of members from 7 pilot-schools across the country and 2 teacher colleges. Namibian education authorities succeeded in implementing the new Subject from the beginning of 2008.
