Kjønnsroller og omsorg.

Abstract

Norsk: Denne bacheloroppgaven undersøker om barnets kjønn har en innvirkning på den omsorgen de voksene i barnehagen viser barnet. Belyst av problemstillingen "Vil barnets kjønn spille inn på hvordan de voksne viser omsorg ovenfor barnet?" vil oppgaven se på de ansattes praksis igjennom observasjon og intervju. Deretter knyttes dette sammen med aktuelt fagstoff fra blant annet Askland, Rossholt og Tholin. Oppgaven vil ta for seg omsorgsbegrepet og likestillingsbegrepet både hver for seg og sammen og den vil se på holdninger og samfunnsendringer rundt begge begrepene som kan ha innvirkning på hvordan man jobber med begrepene i dagens barnehager. Oppgaven avdekket ingen forskjeller i hvordan barn behandles på bakgrunn av kjønn, hverken barnet eller de voksnes, men forskjeller i hvordan voksne opplever omsorgen varierer mellom kvinner og menn.

English: This thesis examines if a child’s gender is a factor in the care the adults in a kindergarten show the child. The thesis tries to answer the question "Will a child’s gender influence how the adults show care towards the kid" by looking at how caregivers work, through observation and interviews. This is then compared to other works by, among others, Askland, Rosshold and Tholin. The thesis will look at the care and gender equality as concepts, both separate and together, and it will look at attitudes and societal trends around both concepts that might influence how the concepts are handled in todays kindergartens. This thesis found that neither the child’s or the adult’s gender had an impact on the care received. However, their own perception of the care was found to be different depending on the adult’s gender.
