Et dydsetisk perspektiv på skolens moralopplæring.

Abstract

Norsk: Denne bacheloroppgaven handler om på hvilken måte et dydsetisk perspektiv på skolens moralopplæring kan bidra til å fremme elevenes moralske karakterdannelse gjennom etikkundervisning. Bakgrunn for valg av tema er å finne i formålsparagrafen og den generelle delen av læreplanen. I møte med disse dokumentene har jeg sett at dydsetikk er en etisk modell som fanger opp flere sider ved skolens moralopplæring og som dermed kan bidra til å nå sentrale mål for den moralske dannelsen. For å svare på hvordan dette kan fremmes i etikkundervisning tar jeg utgangspunkt i teori om barn og unges moralske utvikling. Spesielt evnen til empati blir trukket fram her som sentralt for beredskap til og motivasjon for å handle moralsk. Til slutt drøftes narrativ etikk som en aktuell metode for å fremme elevenes moralske karakterdannelse.

English: This Bachelor thesis shows how a virtue ethical perspective on school's moral education can contribute to promote students moral character building through use of ethical teaching. The reason I chose this theme can be found in the mission statement of the Education Act and the general part of the curriculum. While working with these documents I found that virtue ethics is an ethical model that contains several aspects of the school's moral education, and therefore can contribute to reach main goals for the moral character building. To be able to answer how this can be promoted in the ethical school teaching I am basing it on theory on children and youth's moral development. Especially the ability to empathize is used here as essential for preparation and motivation to act morally. At the end, I discuss narrative ethics as a plausible method to promote students' moral character building.
